Privacy Policy

Last updated August 19, 2026

The short version

  • · Your Mani Cards are private unless you make one public.
  • · Your journal notes are never public — that’s enforced in the database.
  • · Your profile page is public, even if your cards aren’t.
  • · I don’t sell your data.
  • · Your photos are never used to train AI models.
  • · Analytics here are anonymous and cookieless. There is no ad tracking, no pixels, no session replay.

Who’s responsible for your information

Manicured is operated by Olivia Kelly, a sole proprietor based in Oregon, United States. If you have a question or request about your information, email support@hellomanicured.com. A real person — me — reads it.

What Manicured collects

Account information. You sign in with Google, which is the only sign-in method. Manicured never creates or receives a password for you. Signing in gives Manicured your email address and the basic profile information Google includes with a sign-in, such as your Google account name, profile picture URL, and a Google account identifier. Manicured itself uses your email address (for billing and for contacting you if necessary) and an internal account ID.

Profile information. Your handle, and optionally a display name and bio, which you enter when you set up your account. This information is public — visible to anyone, whether or not you have ever made a Mani Card public.

Mani Card content. Everything you save on a card: title, the “About this mani” caption, application notes, polish recipe rows (brand, product, coats), color, manicure type, finish and style tags, mood and occasion tags, the date worn, your favorite/wear-again markers, and your journal notes.

Photos. The images you upload to your cards, plus basic file details (size, type, dimensions). Photos are stored in private storage. Every time an image is displayed — to you or on a public card — it’s served through a temporary signed link, not a permanently public URL.

When you pick a photo, Manicured resizes and re-encodes it in your browser before uploading. That normally removes camera metadata, including any location the photo was tagged with. It’s a genuine improvement, but it happens on your device and can fail on unusual files, so please don’t rely on it to strip sensitive metadata from a photo you’d be uncomfortable sharing.

Community activity. When you save a card, spot a card, or follow a creator, Manicured records it so it can show you your own saves, spots, and follows. Section “What other people can see” below explains exactly who can see what.

Payment information. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. Manicured never sees, receives, or stores your card number. What Manicured stores is the connection to your Stripe record: a Stripe customer ID, a subscription ID, its status, the plan, whether it’s set to cancel, and the current period end date. Manicured sends Stripe your email address and account ID so your payment can be matched to your account.

Feedback you send. If you use the feedback form in Settings, Manicured stores your message, the category you picked, and your account ID, so I can read it and follow up. There’s no way to view or withdraw a submitted note from within the app — email me if you’d like one removed.

Technical information. Like any website, Manicured’s hosting provider records ordinary request information — IP address, browser type, the page requested, timestamps — in server logs used for security and debugging.

Analytics. Manicured uses Plausible, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service. It records page views and a small set of product events — that a card was created, that a photo was uploaded, that something was made public. These events never carry anything that identifies you or your content: no account IDs, no email addresses, no handles, no card IDs, no titles, no brand or polish names, no notes, no photo links. Even how many spots a card has is deliberately never sent.

What Manicured does not do

  • I don’t sell your data, and I don’t share it with data brokers or advertisers.
  • Your photos and card content are never used to train AI models — not mine, not anyone else’s.
  • There is no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no session replay, and no cross-site tracking on Manicured.
  • Your journal notes are never published. They aren’t merely hidden in the interface — the database has no rule that would let anyone but you read them.

What other people can see

Always public: your profile page — handle, display name, and bio — is visible to anyone, and is listed alongside any cards you make public. This is true even if every card you own is private.

Public only if you publish a card: that card’s photos, title, caption, application notes, polish recipe, tags, and publish date. Public cards can appear on the Discover feed, on your profile, at their own shareable link, and possibly on the Manicured homepage.

Never public: your journal notes, your email address, your private cards, and anything about your payments or plan.

Community actions each have their own rule:

  • Saves are private to you. The person whose card you saved is never told, and no save count is shown anywhere.
  • Spots show a public count, but never who spotted. A card can show that it’s been spotted 12 times; nobody — including the card’s owner — can see that you were one of them.
  • Follows are private to you. Creators cannot see who follows them, cannot count their followers, and are not notified. There are no follower counts anywhere in Manicured.

If you make a public card private again, it leaves Manicured’s public surfaces immediately. Image links issued shortly beforehand can keep working for up to about an hour, and anything someone already saved or screenshotted is out of my hands.

How your information is used

  • To run Manicured: sign you in and show you your own archive.
  • To display the cards you’ve chosen to make public, on the surfaces described above.
  • To process and manage a subscription, if you have one.
  • To understand how the product is used in aggregate, so I can improve it.
  • To keep Manicured safe: investigating abuse, enforcing the Community Guidelines, and preventing fraud.
  • To reply to you when you contact me.
  • To comply with the law when I’m required to.

Who your information is shared with

Manicured shares information with the companies it needs to run, and nobody else. Each one only receives what its job requires:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Holds your account, profile, cards, and photos.
  • Vercel — hosting. Serves the site and records standard request logs.
  • Google — sign-in. Google handles the sign-in itself and knows that you signed in to Manicured.
  • Stripe — payments. Receives your email and account ID, and holds your payment details directly.
  • Plausible — anonymous, cookieless analytics. Receives no information that identifies you.

Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety or Manicured’s rights, or — if Manicured is ever sold or transferred — to the new owner, who would be bound by a policy at least as protective as this one. You’d be told before that happened.

The fonts and design assets on Manicured are served from Manicured itself, so simply loading a page doesn’t hand your visit to a font or CDN provider.

Cookies and browser storage

Manicured uses only strictly necessary cookies — the ones that keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party tracking cookies, which is why you don’t see a cookie consent banner here.

Manicured also stores one small flag in your browser to remember that you dismissed the feedback banner, and keeps generated export images in memory for the length of your visit so re-opening the download panel doesn’t redo the work. Neither leaves your device.

Where your information is stored

Manicured is operated from the United States, and information is stored on servers in the United States. It’s intended for people in the US. If you use Manicured from elsewhere, you’re choosing to send your information to the US, where privacy laws differ from your own.

How long information is kept

Your account information, cards, and photos are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete a Mani Card, its content is removed and its photo files are deleted along with it. When you ask me to delete your account, everything above goes with it.

Two exceptions, so this is honest: Stripe keeps its own records of payments for as long as it must for tax and accounting purposes, which I can’t delete; and ordinary server logs roll off on the hosting provider’s own schedule.

Your choices

  • Keep things private. Cards are private by default. Nothing becomes public unless you publish it, one card at a time.
  • Unpublish. You can make any public card private again at any time.
  • Edit or delete your profile details. Display name and bio can be changed or emptied in Settings. Handles are permanent once set, because they’re part of your shareable links.
  • Delete individual cards. You can do this yourself, and it deletes their photos too.
  • Delete your account. There isn’t a button for this yet. Email support@hellomanicured.com and I’ll delete your account, your cards, and your photos for you. I’ll confirm when it’s done.
  • Get a copy of your data. A full in-app export is on the roadmap and isn’t built yet. In the meantime, any Mani Card with recipe details on it can be exported as an image from the app, and you can email support@hellomanicured.com for a copy of your data.
  • Opt out of analytics. Plausible doesn’t track individuals, but any content blocker or a browser’s “do not track” setting will stop it loading. Manicured works normally either way.
  • Cancel your subscription. Settings → Manage billing, which opens Stripe’s portal.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your information — to access it, correct it, or have it deleted. Email me and I’ll honor those requests regardless of where you live. I won’t treat you differently for asking.

Children

Manicured isn’t intended for children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them. Users aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian’s permission, as described in the Terms of Service. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email me and I’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date at the top changes, and significant changes will be noted on Manicured itself. Manicured doesn’t send email, so there won’t be an email notification — please check back here from time to time.
